If he paid 185,000 yen for it that's about $1542.00 (thanks to the wonders

Not really that case, the price tag is just only a recommended retail price.
A couple of years ago, my friend bought a new T-32 flash from Yodobashi
Camera in Japan for 17,500 whereas the price tag shows 32,000.
Good to have this lens but how often will I used it compare to my Zuiko
35-105?
Probably the photos taken with the 8mm to the 35-105 will be of 1:500.
