Are you sure, John? I always look through the front of the lens,
pointing the rear (mounting side) to the object... this would also
agree with the recommendation to use the lens in retro-position for
larger magnifciations.
But I second you re. the quality of these loupes: It is very good
indeed!

You're right, of course. Doing it my way gives more magnification, and
that's why I've gotten in that habit--looking for sharpness, grain,
etc. Can't see the entire slide at once like doing it your way. Maybe I'm
the only one around who does it wrong, but I like the extra magnification.
