As noted on the esif, The microprisim, split-image and edges of the
finder will darken for these combinations.
I have found that with my 400mm f4.5 on a OM 2s with a 2-13 screen, the
microprisim and split-image do not darken but there is a definite "( )"
pattern to the darkening at the edges of the view finder. Initially I
found this to be very distracting but I have mostly learned to live with
it. I would not give up my 2 series screen over it but it is probably
the reason there is not a 2-8 screen for Astro Photography.
