I've got this nifty 600/6.5 sitting here and I've determined
that both of these lenses are best served for "bird on a perch"
photography. I'll save my pennies for a Tamron 300/2.8 with
matched 1.4 teleconverter.
These lenses are very uncomfortable to use. Way too ungainly
and the focus mechanism is difficult at best to use. Sharp,
though.
Oh, and a couple square miles of chrome on these beasts. You do
have to like that!
