Thanks for the suggestions regarding possible causes of a hot spot while using
flash. Here's a pic demonstrating the
problem:

This was taken quite close using a 50mm f1.4 with a skylight filter, and a t32
on a bounce grip. I'm still looking for an
explanation as to what exactly could have caused this (and other) hot spots
from any flash experts out there... Thanks!
