I always thought that's what the film holder thing on the back _was_ for?
(not that I ever use it -- I don't keep film in the cardboard boxes, so I
never have a box end handy to put in there anyway).
I don't hold onto the film cardboard boxes either. However, I DO tear off
the box ends and store them in my camera bag. They consume almost no room,
and I can swap out the memo holder contents in a jiffy.
