One good way to ensure velcro fixings are more reliable is to use multiple
layers; so instead of having (in diagrams, --- = cloth, H = hook bit of
velcro, S = smooth bit of velcro, make sure you're using a monospaced font
to view them..)
two bits of cloth:
--------------- and --------------- which fix together like:
HHHHHHH SSSSSS
------------
HHHHHH
SSSSSS
----------------
you have one "y-shaped" bit of cloth and one normal one:
/H
/H
/H SSSS
-------------/H ---------------
\H SSSS
\H
\H
\H
which fix together like so:
/-----
/ HHHHH
/ SSSSS
-------------| -------------------
\ SSSSS
\ HHHHH
\-----
This is a _lot_ stronger, and much less likely to come undone surprisingly.
