I wonder if the many requests for prayer last week were a reaction to the
horror we suffered or if prayer has always been in the hearts of so many
list members. I think we must pray, for our own preservation, that such a
thing as this "educated and intelligent" person advocates never
happens. Even lesser crimes could ruin us; even our motives can ruin
us. We have every right to defend ourselves and to seek justice, but if we
go after the perpetrators with hate as our motive, we are no better than
they, and we are risk losing our moral compass. I mean this as an offense
to no one, but as a plea to our praying members.
