I don't know if this can top some of the other self confessions (I still
like the one about the little boy asking if the camera can take photos with
the lens cap on!) but this is my little bit of embarrassment from just last
week.
I have been shooting on 36 exposure rolls of film and have been generally
winding on the film by hand until I recently purchased a Winder 2. I
purchased some Agfa film so that I could try and take some photos for some
comps. that Agfa are running at the moment. Here I was snapping away
furiously taking some extreme close ups with a standard 50 f1.8 of some sea
birds as they were trying to grab my Fish & Chips that I was eating down at
the beach. They were just hovering about 1-2ft from my face with the sun
directly behind. This gave some incredibly backlighting through their white
feathers. Next thing the winder stops shooting. Hmmm I think... could be
dead batteries, I have been giving it a bit of a hammering lately. So I take
the winder off and advance the film by hand and I hear this almighty grating
tearing sound????? I forgot that Agfa are 24+3 (27 exposure film). So I am
able to retrieve some of the film (Most have scratching on them from the
film has been rewound and scrapping its jagged edges across itself.) But
HEY! There is an upside to this, I have now found a way to get an OM-10 to
do multiple exposures.
I will post a link soon so you can have a look at this very arty farty shot
Cheers Adam
