Just like Siddiq, I use palm metering a lot. Your palm is always going to be 
the same color/reflectance, so it's like having an incident meter with you 
all the time. As long as the same light is falling on your palm as on your 
subject, you'll get good exposures by metering off your palm and opening up 
one stop.
