Well, friends
thanks to all your objective, clearminded advice, I went and bought the
Zuiko 85/2 yesterday. NIIICE.
Two tiny spots on (the MC) coating on front element, otherwise next to
perfect. The final price was actually $140 (I had converted wrong between
the dollar and swedish currency), but I already love it. That probably
means the silvernose 100/2.8 has to go. Or..?

No!!! Use your two lenses and make some fine photographs with them of your
wife's favorite subject material. Use good chrome film, then have several
large Ilfochromes printed, then mount and frame them. At the proper time
make certain you explain to her, with as much techno-babble as possible,
how you used *both* lenses and any other hardware you've most recently
purchased to make these special prints for her.
BTW, I have standing orders from the Commander in Chief that although three
of my large prints may be used for shows, they are to be clearly marked NFS
(not for sale). One of them is the TOPE 5, and another the TOPE 6.
:-)
