Chris, Dave & list,
Hello all. For anyone interested, here are a couple other
excellent astrophotographer sites.
http://www.astrocruise.com - Phillip Perkins
http://www.starmatt.com - Matt BenDaniel
http://www.aa6g.org/Astronomy/astrophotos.html - Chuck Vaughn
Matt's site has some excellent wide field images.
And Phillips' site... well it speaks for itself. Some
very very high quality work. Chuck does a lot of very
impressive B&W Work (Tech Pan). All the sites have
numerous articles to help get you started in astrophotography.
I have been into astrophotography for about a year now.
I'm just finally starting to learn the ropes. If anyone's interested
I've posted one of my best wide field images. Shot using a 50mm 1.8 Zuiko.

The image is of the North American Nebula / Constellation Cygnus. The image
contains over 30,000 stars (no, I didn't hand count them. I've got some
software that
does). Be patient, the image is large.
Regards,
Grant

I found a nice astrophotography site with some pretty good practical stuff on
it, setting up the camera with a telescope, using camera lenses, focusing
methods etc. Looks informative:
Catching the Light Astrophotography by Jerry Lodriguss:

I have bookmarked it myself 'cos I've been into astronomy since I was aged 7.
Patrick Moore, Sky and Telescope magazine and all that were my junior school
obsessions and still are now, sometimes! Just 'waiting' for a Celestron 8 now.
Kind regards,
Dave Bellamy.
