Just discovered that I cannot seem to get my MD cover out of the storage
slot inside the battery compartment of one of my Winder 2's... anyone have
any suggestions? When I got the Winder (some months ago) I noticed the
little black foam piece on the bottom of the MD cover slot was turning to
goo, so I did my best to clean it (removing the black sticky stuff). Even
so, the cover seemed to be a fairly tight fit into the slot. I inserted
and removed it a few times to convince myself it would come back out, then
proceeded to use things as is for a few months. I recently upgraded to a
newer, less battered Winder 2. When I checked, it also had the foam pad
turning to glue - not uncommon, I suppose. The real issue came when I tried
getting the MD cover out of the older Winder 2.... I can't get it to budge!
I'm only using finger perssure, as I don't want to damage the cover (or the
Winder!). I would guess that I didn't get all the foam goo out, and it has
pretty much glued the cover to the winder body. Has anyone else experienced
this problem? I've though of trying a solvant of some sort, or a very thin
knife blade, but would appreciate any suggestions or directions! Thanx! Curt
