It sounds like what you have when all is said and done is a focusing rail. These
sell for $109.95 new at B&H. Ther is one on eBay listed as NIB that will close

You could buy a focusing stage to use with it. It makes for a nice macro setup,
but a new focusing stage is going to set you back another $70.00
