John Roskelley and another Everest climber I know used Olympus cameras on their eraly trips up to the great peaks of the Himalaya. I was in Nepal last year and saw a huge variety of stuff. It was nice to see alot of manual cameras as most folks were aware of battery issues. I saw Leica R6's, M's and Nikon FM's, but I saw plenty of good old OM 1's too : ) Roskelley uses FM/FM2 now I believe. The biggest threat I see to Olympus is newer lens designs and variety and improved optical formulas that threaten Zuiko performance and compactness....
