And I thought the June bug that center-punched me in the sternum at 80MPH
was bad...
What really irritated me was the little bugger survived and I hadn't even
gotten going fast enough for my hair to light off yet... :-)

I had a Shoe motorcycle helmet with a full face Lexan shield. I encountered
what I think was a sparrow at 110mph on I-25 north of Denver. Nothing there
and then a speck, and then in less than the wink of an eye, BAM! Snaped my
head back, but nothing penetrated the shield. Thank God for that. It is
really tough stuff. (Yes I know I was nuts to be going so fast. This was
several years ago when I still loved to go places with my hair on fire. We
have people in the Royal Air Force on the list who will understand that. (g)
