Photoshop (I use v6) actually has a pretty nice thumbnail and gallery
construction tool found under the batch operations menu.
Look here to see some albums that did for misc uses quickly from Photoshop.
It's very easy to produce. http://www.skipwilliams.com/albums/
Procedure? Group the images into one subdirectory. Tell Photoshop where
the files are and which directory should receive the target gallery. You
can set size of thumbnail, # row/columns, color, etc. I just upload them
through Frontpage to my website after that. After scanning and putting the
images into a directory: maybe 2-3 minutes tops from start to on-the-web.

Subject: [OM] Thumbnail-making programs?

15 rolls (24's, though) at the weekend.. (and having spent some hours
last
night slaving over a hot scanner, I wound up with about 75 shots that I
thought were worth scanning, which is a pretty decent hit rate)
Once I've found a reasonable thumbnail-making program (or just written
one,
I guess) I'll dump them up somewhere and post a link here.

and other large companies are sponsoring around the place; most of them are
zoomed action shots, thus my earlier question about shutter speed).
