Confession; I've been getting most of my films processed at The Great
Canadian Superstore recently, because they're _so_ cheap. CDN$3 (=US$2) for
a 24 film, three-day processing. (or CDN$5 for 1-hour). I honestly don't see
how they can keep this part of their business running like that -- or,
alternatively, the markup that everywhere else charges must be insane.
Quality's actually pretty decent. Sure, it's not on the good paper -- but
I've had no complaints about colour balance/exposure/etc, and if I do want
prints made I can always take the negs along to somewhere higher-end.
I certainly can't tell any difference between Superstore processing and
anywhere else that's not pro-level; the rolls I did get done at a decent
shop on nice paper are certainly prettier, but are they five times prettier?
I'm not sure..

(this is another reason I like to shoot 15 films at a time. They also sell
relabeled Fuji 400 film for CDN$13 for a 5-pack, or CDN$11 for 100. Again,
just the generic stuff, but it makes it really easy to take a _lot_ of
photos. This way I can use the law of averages to compensate for any lack of
ability.. <grin> )
