"What Mike said."
Sorry for the email from a foreign address. We just moved to
Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA and have not sorted out email addresses
yet. Just too much to do.
As regards to Oben. I have a preference towards banning him.
I went through my modest kit last night and excercised all the shutters
and lenses. I put the Quantum lead-acid batteries on trickle charge
also. I kinda want to sell the non-zuiko glass to raise some money for a
21/3.5 or an 18/3.5, but have not decided anything yet. I have been real
busy with other things so have not had time to shoot at all. My latest
offerings will be in an article for the American Conifer Society's
Bulletin. I wrote a small article for them on growing fir trees in hot
southern climates. I also took some pictures of these trees locally. We
have in Washington, DC a world renowned collection of dwarf and unusual
conifers at Gotelli Collection in the National Arboretum. For conifer
nut like me, visiting it is akin to a religious experience. I
immediately have an urge to speak in hushed tones.
One of the things I've been busy with is planting a 7 foot tall Concolor
fir tree. It was heavy at over 200 lbs. I also planted a 6 foot hemlock.
I hope to get back to taking more photos here in Fredericksburg later.
They do have a confederate cemetary here. Actually several. And some
famous old houses. Hmm, I detect a theme in my work: cemetaries and old
buildings. Maybe I should hope/save/pray for a shift lens someday??
Never thought of that before. Hmmm. Typing at the speed of thought,
hmmm, as opposed to typing before thought, or without thought, or oben
thought. Nay, not another can of worms!!
Best Regards,
Dirk
