I was on an annual off-road trip into the Sierras of California this past
weekend. Miles from light pollution, altitudes around 7000ft/2133m and
nothing else much to do after dark but watch.
Not nearly as "busy" as in some previous years, but definitely good
watching. A number of meteors with long, colorful streaks. Unfortunately,
due to the nature of the trip (4 days of VERY dusty conditions, due to poor
snowfall last winter) I chose only to bring the Centurion for film
photography and therefore took no sky photos this trip.

PS Did anyone have any luck with the Perseids? It was cloudy as usual here
in London.
