Hello, welcome to the list. There's a few mechanically-minded people
here who'll probably be able to advise you on things, but I'll jump in
first and say for repairs, I'd strongly advise against Jessops. I had
an OM-1 which went to them with a dead meter and came back, allegedly
repaired, but in fact now having a scratched focussing screen, a big
dent on the top plate, the meter still not working, and a note saying
"sorry, terminally damaged". I wasn't happy, but they did make up for
it by giving me an OM-1n in good nick. That took a strongly-worded
letter of complaint, though.
