Heck, stuff your pockets with cameras.. That's what I did -- my carry-on
weighed about 20lbs what with all the junk I had in there (a lot of it was
camera-related), so the nice lady at the checkin desk said "sorry, you'll
have to check that into the hold, it's too heavy".
I don't think so.. I have far too many photos of the tops of clouds, but I
always want more (why? I don't know, they never look as good as I'd like
them to -- but that's another story) so I wasn't about to check all the
stuff into the hold -- and, besides, I was pushing my luck for baggage
allowance _there_.
So, off to the back of the queue under the pretense of re-packing stuff;
haul all the camera+lenses out of the carryon bag, stuff my jacket pockets
with it all -- this time, carryon was much lighter (though I had rather a
funny stance as I stood in the queue), everyone's happy, off I go.
