Hmmm, although rare, my AF 24mm cost me $40 on eBay. I
never thought of using it as spare parts and yes the
diagram does show the same number of elements and
groups so this should be possible. I think the
35-70/3.5-4.5 and 28.2.8 mm formulas are the same
also. Unique lens were the 28-85, 70-200, and 50/2.8
macro. This last one I have never seen.
