Barry,
Move calmly, watch where you put your hands and don't panic if you get
stung. Bees are quite friendly if you just give them a little consideration.
I usually don't have a model to go with the bees so I shoot bee portraits. I
have never been stung by any insect while taking pictures. Its stinging
plants that I usually walk in to when stalking an insect.
A 16 or 18 mm would be nice, you could have a picture of the model with the
bees flying in the foreground.
