I don't think its radioactive in the coating, the radioactive coating is
actually in the glass. Like lead crystal, eg Waterford is ~24 0.000000e+00ad.
They
actually melt the metal or mineral in with the molten glass batch. I went
and looked at my 55/1.2, but I don't have a geiger counter to check it with.
I always wondered how adding an opaque metal or mineral could result in such
clear glass.
