PETER:

Having both the 24 and 35 shift, I would recommend the 35 above the 24
only because of size, weight, and cost. Believe me, the 24 gets plenty
of use, but for the day out it is not easy to use and sometimes is a bit
too wide and exaggerated. I would also recommend (if you don't have
already) to use a brighter 2-series or beattie screen as you will find
that it is sometimes easier to shoot w/ diaphragm closed down so that
you don't forget to do this before exposure! Also having the grid is
essential if you are after straight lines.

I certainly agree w/ your comment about only shooting slides. I have
kept myself on a slim diet of Provia F and AGFA Scala for some time now,
and would never turn back. In fact, I seem to shoot more Scala than
anything else only because of its excellent latitude and tone rendition.
Hopefully the griesphotography site will soon be up and you can see what
I mean.

I too look forward to the day that a 90/2 will find its way to my door,
but until then I think I can survive w/ and 85/2 + ext. tubes.....

Couldn't agree more with each of these diverse
remarks. My dream system is still a shift wide
angle + this 90/2. I haven't figured out whether
it's worth it to get the 24mm, specially because
the 35mm would replace my 50mm in the process.
But I'm not up to that purchase yet, I'm still
discovering the 90mm. But if I would ever get to
that point, it would leave me with just 2 lenses
for all my shooting.
