You lucky sod, Jim! I wish I could have been there.
The top motorcycle racing photogs routinely use fast 500 & 600mm lenses,
supplemented by a 200 or 300 w/converter to fill the shorter f./lengths. And
17-35mm or similar for pitlane/grid shots. Film is usually Velvia or Provia,
nothing faster than 100asa.
