I read the book first--I think I picked it up somewhere free and let it lie
there for a year or so. Pretty good storyline and the author's not too bad.
The movie lacked the book's edge but still wasn't all bad. HArd to capture
deatils like that poor guy rolling down the parking ramp afire on film and
still make it viable fare for teenagers. <g>

Speaking of weird.
Anyone seen "Manhunter"? Made in 1986, based on Thomas Harris's "Red
Dragon", it was the first time (I believe) that Hannibal "Cannibal"
Lecter showed his pearly whites on the silver screen.
The detective assigned to catch the new serial killer and who caught
Hannibal Lecter sports an Olympus XA-16 with flash. Sadly, the only
other recognizable camera is a N*k*n.
