All B+W's multicoated filters I've bought came in a small cardboard box
with "Multicoated" clearly printed on the label. The filter itself will
have "MC" clearly stenciled into the mount. Not all B+W's come multicoated,
though--not sure if all of their color-correction and black-and-white
filters have this option. (Though I suspect they do. I've just never
checked--I buy Tiffen with a shrug if a B+W item isn't available.)

On the advice of the list (thanks Andrew especially) I got some B+W
filters from a local reseller who hadn't stocked them since 5 years or so
and gave me excellent discounts on 49mm and 55mm UV filters. When I got
them home I noticed that the filters don't have the multi coloured
reflections one expects with coating.
I checked the B+W site:
http://www.schneideroptics.com/filters/mc.htm
and they mention coating of their filters. I wonder if my filters are of a
pre coating vintage? I wonder when they started coating their filters. Do
other people who use B+W see coatings on them?
Thanks in advance
