Camera would have to be, atleast, inspected. Sounds like it needs work.

Subject: [OM] OM4 dropped.....
| Hello out there,
|
| I'm new to this forem, maybe someone out there could
| give me some advice regarding my camera. I have an OM4
| which I dropped a week ago, it didn't land on anything
| too hard, it was a wooden floor. Anyway since then it
| has developed a fault, the mechanical 60 and B
| settings work fine, but when in auto or manual mode,
| the shutter speed in the display shows "2000" and
| won't move, regardless of where the shutter speed dial
| is. If the dial is set to 2000, or 1000, or 500 the
| shutter will operate, but the timings aren't right,
| 1000 sounds like about 1/8 second and 500 sounds like
| a second.
| If the dial is set to anything other than those three,
| the mirror flips up and won't go down again (when the
| shutter is depressed) this can only be resolved by
| switching to mechanical 60'th.
| Everything else in the camera works ok, the spot
| meter, the hi light and shadow buttons, the
| memory/clear and the battery check.
| Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with my
| camera?
| Does it sound terminal? I love my OM4 and would prefer
| to have it repaired than have to buy something new.
|
| Thanks for your help
|
| Robert.
