Yes the design is different, but the Mig 21 has the same role in
Russian air force.
But all Migs 21 has reheat and the Mig 21 bis (engine R-25-300 )has
"secondary reheat" it has max thrust of 9720 daN = 9908 kG on 4000 m with
time limit of 3 minutes normaly this engine has 4020 daN = 4098 kG, and
6960 daN=7094kG with normal reheat.This fighters are still in use here in
Poland, Czech Rrepublic and many many countries.
