Tom and several others of us have a hard time deciding what kit to use when
we are going out to photograph. It is common knowledge that we all tend to
get a little heavy in the choice area when we hang around with this bunch of
enablers. The hard part of this is selecting the "perfect" kit, as there
isn't just one perfect. What if he had said, you have to choose from stuff
you already have . . . oh, that would have required us to be happy with what
we have. That would not be fair at all. Here goes.
$400 2 Bodies at least one of which would be an OM 2S
$20 50mm f1.8 Zuiko w/lens hood
$160 28-48mm Zuiko w/ lenshood
$50 2X Vivitar macro focusing tele-extender
$45 T 20 Flash
$25 Bag to carry it all in
$140 100mm f2.8 Zuiko w/lenshood
$160 60-300mm Tamron zoom w/lens hood
$50 Tripod
$20 49mm circular polarizing filter
$5 cable release
$5 Microfiber lens cloth
$7 Cosmetics brush
$8 cotton balls, swabs and denatured alcohol
Free toothbrush from last visit to your dentist
$1100 Total
If Tom had just given us a little more money I would have bought some film
for my perfect kit.
Maybe the next exercise we should do is to put together the perfect selection
of film to have on hand in your refrigerator. Allow about $250 and see what
folks would consider essential. Anyone up for the perfect film selection?
