As described, the "going price" seems to be somewhere between $250 and $350.
I've seen on-line sites wanting $375. They really are superb lenses. I
sold mine just after acquirine a 90/2 macro, and was sorry to see it go. I
think I got $250 at the time for one that had seen a lot of use. Almost all
the macro pictures on my site were taken with this lens. They are heavy
suckers though. Don't expect a lightweight, packable lens. The 50/3.5 is
the lens for that use.
Personnaly, I'd like to see a comparison vs. other Vivitar 90mm macros or
Tamron, Tokina, etc.? Give what I've seen in the magazines, the Series-1 t
would probably hold it's own against lenses made within 10-15 years
afterwards, but the mid-1990's++ designs will probably beat this late 1970's
workhorse.
I don't think I'd pay $330. I'd get a Tamron SP instead. The price of the
Tamron's stay down because they can be re-purposed on many bodies.
Tokina's, Vivitar S1's, etc. tend to be more expensive when comparing
apples-to-apples due to market forces of the dedicated-camera lens-mounts.

Yep...
There was one on a week or so ago that went for $330.

It seems like they were going for under $200 not long ago. There must be
a couple of people who really want one right now...
