It doesn't really "sync" doing this as most people would think of a flash
sync (X-sync). The F-280 must be in "Super FP" mode. In doing this the
OM-4T will "FP-sync" instead of "X-sync." FP-sync triggers the flash just
before the leading curtain opens. The flash dumps its entire charge in
very rapid series of flashes that continue until just after the trailing
curtain closes. Note that the Guide Number plummets as you increase
shutter speed. BTW, this is very close to the original FP-sync which used
long duration flash bulbs such as the #26 (long duration version of the
Press 25). Same with them; Guide Number plummeted with increased shutter
speed.
