Thanks Mark.
So is it worth the extra $50-70 to get a F280 after all?
Henrik
Henrik,
You can use any "T" flash on the OM-4T(i). If you do you
will be restricted to having your shutter speed be at or slower
than the X-Sync speed of 1/60th second.
The F280 on the OM-4T(i) allows one to use shutter speeds
FASTER than 1/60th of a second by essentially being on for
a lot longer kind of like the older slow-burning flash bulbs.
TTL - stands for "Through the Lens" and refers to metring
the flash by measuring the light through the lens and when sufficient
light has accumulated to immidiately shut off the flash.
HTH ( Hope this helps!)

I'm a total newbee on the flash-front; please bear with me.
For my OM-4T, _must_ I get a F280, or can I do with a cheaper
T20 or even T18? What does TTL actually stand for?
I need a flash to help when light is not around, and I would like
to try some "artistic" night photography (notice the humble quotes;-))
I know I sound like a first-grader, but as I said I never really used a
real flash.
