By coincidence I've also just picked up a secondhand IS3000. I've had an
IS1000 for about 12 months now and been pretty pleased with everything
except the focusing speed, good in bright light, but tends to hunt a bit as
the light level goes down. Excellent optics and metering.
Remembering what Ken Norton and a few other list members had said about the
3/3000 I tried it out in the store, pressed the shutter and Bang!, focused
on a wall of black camera bags in a poorly lit corner of the shop. I had to
have it. I've already got the G40 from my IS1000 kit so am looking forward
to putting a roll through. Picked up the macro aux lens and flash diffuser
at the same time.
Then I went down the road a little and found a 2n and 35-105 Zuiko that
needed rescuing. Then I drove back to Brisbane and picked up the 55/1.2
black nose I had waiting. Very expensive day, I've got it real bad (day
before I'd mail ordered a 16/3.5). Anyone interested in an IS1000?
preferably before the MasterCard bill is due :-)
Some of you may remember my dropping my 4ti, well it's back and it's pretty
with it's new top plate and the shutter repaired. It's running a roll of
Sensia at the moment but all seems sweet. Total repair came to $430 Aus, of
which $230 was parts. The camera repair guy has cost me heaps more though,
keeps ringing me up, "Steve, I've seen/got this Olympus/Zuiko xyz in good
condition, interested?"

In the middle of all that (actually just before it started), I purchased an
IS-3. I then had the chance to use it during the retirement ceremony and my
friend's last church service. To be safe, I also acquired a G-40 flash.
