I've used them a bit, and enjoy the added functionality I get for a small
investment. If you get a set and enjoy doing the macro work, you can move
on to a macro lens. It's not the same, but they can be used as a bridge or
testing ground. They may be all you need. My submission to TOPE 6 was made
with close-up filter lenses on a 135 3.5.
