The way I underatand it- you can certainly _reduce_ flare with lens design,
coatings, and hoods, but you'll never completely eliminate it in a direct
against the light shot. Some designs are better than others. It's like when
they advertise an expensive wide lens has _minimal distortion_. It's never
eliminated.
