Found this story fascinating:
Local news station just did a story on George Mallory (1924 Mt. Everest
expedition). A team of climbers (from the Northwest, I think) is on the
mountain right now, looking for Mallory's Kodak vest pocket camera, hoping
the film in it can be thawed and developed. For one thing, said film might
confirm whether or not Mallory and climbing partner Sandy (sp?) Irvine
reached the summit. They found Mallory's body on a prior expedition, and
buried it under rock, so they have a good location from which to base their
search for his camera.
Film frozen 77 years now. Wouldn't that be something?
