really? i thought it was because the plant /wants/ to grow. that is,
the differential growth rate is not cause by differential
lighting (but from a chemical reaction that /reduces/ growth on one
side to get /more/ sunlight). i dunno, it's been
almost a year from my upper-division botany class...
Did not know plants had free will. :-)
