I had a 2n jam on me.
After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and
exploring the many suggestions from people on this
list, I finally took it to a repair place.
It turned out that a screw had fallen from a lens
(which had failed to operate properly shortly before
the lens jammed) and had lodged itself between the
"shutter curtain" and the side of the camera. Until
the curtain could close completely the film could not
be advanced.
Is Shutter Curtain the right phrase? This was a piece
of black material ( I forget if it was metal or cloth
or what) that came between the film and the lens.
