So far no complaints with my "local" processor, but if I were to buy both
film and processing from Adorama, for example, the cost of a roll of Velvia,
processed, drops from roughly $17 to $11, and no travel costs.
Already by ordering from Adorama I'm saving a bunch per roll, and I'd like
to save more, but not at the cost of quality of processing.
Any guidance greatly appreciated.

I have been using mostly Fuji since a little before Velvia came out
and I have bought it from B&H with the Fuji processing mailers.
Never a problem with the processing or loss of film or sending me
someone else's pictures, unlike my experiences with some small shops
or Kodak processing. Turn around has been about 10-12 days in the
past, but several batches sent in the last 6 months have been back in
6-8 days. Probably Fuji looks on the processing as part of what
sells their film.
