I would offer that this is actually *on* topic, since it is about the
society that we photograph with our cameras. Photography is much more than
just lenses and film. It's about values, society, and other human issues.
Discussing these issues in a photography forum appears to me to be
completely appropriate.
If this forum were about painting, as in art, would we be talking about
burnt seinna and other colors all day long? I think not. We'd be talking
about subject matter and what is important and what is not. It would be a
flame fest between the abstract expressionists and the nouveau realists,
with plenty of invectives to go around!
