Having self published a book some years ago and also been involved in
editing and writing others since I do not think self publishing is the way
to go. Publishers earn their living by the marketing of the book this book
needs to be in the bookshops worldwide properly (and not just on the web) ,
you will not do that by self publishing.
As a professional journalist and graphic designer I am more than willing
to give a helping hand. What this book needs more than anything else is
someone who is experienced in editing amateur writers however enthusiastic
need a sympathetic, guiding hand. I have seen far too many cases of self
published books from keen authors which are much too long and repetitive.
As to publisher there are only a limited number of specialist publishers
out there who would consider such a book. A tight and detailed synopsis with
some a few sample pages needs to be got together. With that I would have
thought it possible to find a sympathetic and willing publisher.
