A good rule of thumb is that lenses first introduced as single coated
got a performance boost when reformulated for multi-coating and that
lenses initially released as multi-coated stayed the same. The boost
isn't necessarily due to the just multi-coating, since Olympus took the
opportunity to tweak the optical formula, too. You can ponder the

just remember that your mileage may vary, especially due to the effects
of wear and tear and your shooting style.
