More than likely a combination of the laptop's screen and the colour depth of
the video card/driver combination. Try it on an honest-to-God RGB CRT monitor,
with a colour depth of 24 or 32 Bits per pixel (if your card supports that bit
depth, of course --but even 16 bits might be better than your laptop.)
