When setting up a replacement front casting (yeah, right, I remember those
days) Once mount to film plane was correct, (usually fine "tuned" with a
mallet) then you would have to reset the mirror angle and once that was
right, then mount to focus screen distance would be wrong, so you'd have to
change shims under the prism frame which moves the screen up or down. Not
something to be attempted unless you have the proper collimator (?).

| No need to adjust the position of the focus screen or the rails. I
| believe Olympus specifies spacers (washers) to be used between the front
| plate and the body as needed for fine focus correction. Also there are
| spacers on which the pentaprism rests that are interchangeable. Perhaps
| John H or Mark D can tell us why . . . is that for "focusing" the
| pentaprism/viewfinder? My guess is yes.
