I don't know how the repair cost at other countries calculated, here
most company charge the repair cost of electronics device at 1/10 of
the price of your device and they have a minimum charge at around
US$30-40 for the cheap devices. The yearly maintenance cost is roughly
the same, hold true for TV, video cassette recorder and even my
Polaroid film recorder (Over US$1,000 a year! of course I didn't join
it).
This may not be applicable to camera, but you cannot directly
calculate the cost this way. Repairman is not a production worker,
they will not generate money on every minute. They may only got one or
two jobs a day and may be even less.
