On further review, the AP brand you saw are NIMHs. This would explain the high
capacity/low weight/small form factor. Whether these would work better than the
NIMHs John H was using, I cannot say. There is also no mention of solder tabs,
FOC, or otherwise for these bats.

Actually, on the same page, in the AP brand, they have 1/3 AAA cells that
are even smaller but 150mah. Could be interested, as you might be able to
squeeze in an extra cell. Clearly the voltage wouldn't be a problem, as the
M.18V is, by definition, 18v.
N110AA @ .24oz * 12 = 2.88 oz
N225AA @ .38oz * 12 = 4.56 oz
AP150AAAH @ .136 oz * 13 = 1.768 oz
I'm going to have to experiment.
