Jim, I hated when they bricked (red brick, hence "Red Square") over the grass
that used to be there (it's now the roof of a large underground parking
garage, with a huge ugly concrete venting chimney sticking up through it. So
unsightly compared to the beautiful gothic architecture of the rest of the
main part of campus. Too bad it wasn't a clear day, as this view looks down
"Rainier Vista", which provides a great view of Mt. Rainier, weather
permitting, directly over the fountain (center, distance).
All the trailers in front of the library (cathedral-like building to the
left) are obviously temporary, part of the never-ending series of campus
construction projects.
OM content: I plan to make a pilgrimage to U.W. campus soon on a sunny day
to shoot some pics all over campus with my "new" OM-2S, 35/2, 50/1.4, 85/2,
300/4.5, and maybe a couple more... it's one of the most photogenic places
in Seattle, esp. in spring. Beautifully landscaped, interesting
architecture, perspectives, students and staff from all over the world. Near
and dear to my heart.
